About language learning

Hey there! I'm Gediminas – welcome to my little corner of the internet!
I'm super passionate about languages and everything that comes with learning them – the challenges, the breakthroughs, the funny moments, the grammar headaches… all of it. This page is my personal space where I share tips, thoughts, and bits of my own journey as a language learner. I hope it inspires you, helps you out, or just makes you feel a bit more connected to the global community of people chasing fluency in one language or another.
So, a bit about me – I currently speak English, Lithuanian, Russian, and German, and I’m actively learning Spanish and Dutch (both are a fun struggle in their own way!). Basically, hoping to become a polyglot one day. I’ve always been surrounded by languages, and I genuinely can’t imagine a life without them.
I studied English philology and pedagogy back in the day, and after graduating, I jumped straight into teaching English as a private tutor. What started as a solo gig eventually grew into a small language school with other amazing teachers on board. Somewhere in the middle of all that, I also published a book on English grammar – definitely one of those “proud but slightly surreal” moments!
But language learning hasn’t been my only path. For the past 15 years, I’ve also worked in human resources, in industries like banking, healthcare, and logistics. I’ve always been drawn to the human side of work – helping people figure out what they want to do and how to get there. That passion led me to start my own company focused on helping people find jobs in the Netherlands, especially those moving from abroad. So career coaching and job support is another big part of who I am and what I do.
Throughout my career and personal life, I’ve been surrounded by multilingual environments. Whether it’s for work, travel, or just chatting with friends, language has always been the key that opens doors – to new cultures, new ideas, and new connections.
This blog is just my way of giving back. I want to share what I’ve learned – the good stuff, the hard stuff, the weird stuff – and hopefully offer some encouragement and motivation to anyone else out there on a similar journey. Whether you're just starting out with a new language or you’ve been at it for years, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for being here – let’s learn and grow together!
